Taylor Revokes Cleveland Bail Bond Agent’s License
— Ohio Lieutenant Governor and Department of Insurance Director Mary Taylor revoked the resident surety bail bond insurance agent license of Vitanya Rivers, of Cleveland, Ohio, for violations of Ohio insurance law.
A Department review revealed that Rivers advertised in the 2010 Cleveland/Greater Cuyahoga County Yellow Pages under the name “In a Pinch Bail Bonds” that did not include an address of record on file with the Department, as required by law. Rivers also failed to register her bail bond agency with the Ohio Secretary of State. Ohio law allows the Director to revoke a surety bail bond insurance agent’s Ohio license for violating or failing to comply with Ohio law.
For those reasons, Rivers’ resident surety bail bond insurance agent license was revoked by the Ohio Department of Insurance on June 27, 2011.
The Department operates the initiative that educates consumers about insurance and investment fraud. Ohioans can visit to read the Take Actiononsumer Guide, and to stay informed on the latest fraud news and alerts.
Consumers with specific insurance questions and complaints can call the Department’s consumer hotline at Ohioans who believe an agent has violated an Ohio insurance law or has committed fraud should call the Department’s enforcement hotline, . Information about agent misconduct can be found on the Department’s web site, .
